The original RC 390 is a supersport-styled version of the Duke 390, built on the same 373 cc single with a balancer shaft and forged piston. It has a steel trellis frame with a steeper steering head than the Duke, which shortens trail and wheelbase and raises ground clearance. Standard equipment includes Bosch ABS that can be disengaged for track use, a digital LCD with an RPM shift alert, and a three-chamber underbelly silencer; the power-to-weight ratio sits at the A2 licence limit.
