A cut-down version of the 500 Alpino twin built mainly for Italy, where bikes above 350 cc attracted much higher sales tax. It keeps the 500's frame and twin-cam, four-valve layout but uses a smaller 60 mm bore, lower compression and smaller carburettors. Weight stayed close to the 500, so performance was modest, though it was cheaper and sold better at home than abroad.
