The 1978 revision of the 500 Alpino added a balancer shaft to cut vibration, a rubber-mounted headlamp, a slimmer tank and new colours. Character stayed the same: a light, well-finished Italian twin with good handling that needs revs to go quickly. Period testers still found it vibratory and expensive for its class.
