The name under which the 500 Alpino twin was sold in the United States, reportedly changed from Alpina after a trademark objection. It is the same air-cooled, four-valve-per-cylinder 500 with six-speed gearbox, aimed at buyers wanting a lightweight Italian sport-tourer. Price and low sales kept it a rare sight outside Europe.
