This is the 1980s-era 1000 SP touring sportster, a relaxed grand tourer rather than a sports bike. A 1979 test praised its torque, tall gearing, weather protection and plush seat, found it faster with the rider sitting upright, and noted a weak front brake. It uses the linked brakes and an adjustable steering damper.
