The Fastback was the first Commando, a rubber-mounted (Isolastic) pushrod twin in a single-backbone frame with a long humped tail. It took the Fastback name in 1969 to separate it from the newer S and R variants, with a modified frame fixing early breakages. Light, quick and good-handling, it is the style most associated with the early Commando.
