The 1973 JPS Norton used a monocoque chassis pushed by rider Peter Williams, with air piped through the structure for cooling. It won the 750 Formula TT with a record lap but was no lighter than a tubular frame and hard to service. Norton went back to a multi-tube frame in 1974.
