Royal Enfield began in Redditch, England, in 1901 and sold the Bullet from 1948. Production moved to Chennai in India in the 1950s, and the British company closed in 1970 while the Indian one carried on building the same single-cylinder Bullet for decades. Fuel injection arrived in 2009, and since the 2010s the range has grown to include the Classic, Thunderbird, Himalayan, Continental GT, Interceptor, Meteor, Hunter and the 650 and 450 families.
