The Constellation was Royal Enfield's fast 700 cc parallel twin, a British road-burner that competed with the larger BSA and Triumph twins. Its engine had a strong bottom end and hot cams, with a reputation for being stressed, and the front brake was widely thought weak for the performance. Twin carburettors arrived in 1959 and the clutch was altered in 1961; the model was gone by 1963.
