The DR-Z 400E in its 2005-2006 form, the electric-start version of the enduro single that is otherwise identical to the kick-start DR-Z 400. A first-ride review found it light and manoeuvrable for its size, strong at low revs and surging in the mid-range even with the restrictive stock exhaust. The reviewer praised the front brake, noted the electric starter adds about 13 lb, and suggested a slip-on muffler and a higher, less swept handlebar.
