For 1980 the GS1000S Cooley replica gained CV carburettors, a maintenance-free transistorised ignition, slotted front discs with a redesigned caliper, rear-set footpegs, a stepped seat and shorter exhaust megaphones. Its styling celebrated Wes Cooley's AMA Superbike wins, and it was replaced by the Katana.
