The 1000 cc Katana was a sleeved-down, homologation-minded version of the GSX1100S, with its bore reduced to bring capacity under the litre class. Hans Muth's radical humpbacked styling set it apart, while underneath it was a conventional air-cooled 16-valve four with a double-cradle frame.
