The GS1100E of 1980 was Suzuki's answer to the power race, moving to a 1074 cc air/oil-cooled four with four valves per cylinder and twin-swirl combustion chambers. It offered about 100 hp in a large, stable chassis with air-assisted forks and highly adjustable suspension.
