The last of the original-style naked Bandit 1200s before the 2001 revamp, still using the carburetted GSX-R-derived four and steel-tube frame. Reviewers liked its strong mid-range, comfortable upright position and keen price, and compared it favourably with sport-tourers such as the Honda VFR750. Minor annoyances were the round mirrors and the front brake lever shape.
