The GSR400 was a Japan-market naked middleweight that borrowed the styling and aluminium-look chassis ideas of the GSR600 but with a 399 cc four-cylinder engine to suit Japanese licence classes. It offered fully adjustable suspension, four-piston front calipers and a conventional steel diamond frame. The plain version had no ABS, which was the main difference from the ABS model sold alongside it.
