The 1983 GS1100E is the last of the first-generation 1074 cc air/oil-cooled 16-valve fours. It keeps the 1982 changes: lowered seat, round headlight, anti-dive forks and strengthened engine internals. It remained a comfortable, well-handling and fast big roadster, though the gearbox and drivetrain lash were criticised.
