The 1984 model year was the final one for the air-cooled GSX400E twin in most countries, essentially carrying over the 1983 bike with its cast wheels and black engine. The fairing-equipped GSX400S continued a couple of years longer, while Suzuki's 400 cc focus moved to the GSX-R400 and liquid-cooled four-cylinder models.
