The 2007 GSX-R1000 (K7) was an all-new design: a new five-casting aluminium frame, larger ports and exhaust valves, a hydraulic self-adjusting clutch with back-torque limiter, an electronically controlled steering damper and a three-mode S-DMS power selector. It gained some weight over the K6 but made around 185 hp and was far quicker-revving.
