For 1986 Suzuki lengthened the swingarm by 25 mm to calm the original bike's high-speed twitchiness, and revised the lower fairing and headlights. The engine and aluminium frame stayed essentially as in 1985. A limited, race-prepared GSX-R750R appeared the same year as a much costlier homologation special.
