The 2000 GSX-R750Y was a ground-up redesign, with a smaller and stronger engine, a new narrower cylinder head and a new twin-spar frame. Brakes and wheels were lighter too, and the claimed dry weight dropped to 166 kg. It started a generation that ran to 2003.
