The unfaired sibling of the SV1000S, using the same fuel-injected 996 cc V-twin tuned for low and mid-range torque. A tube handlebar gives an upright seat, and the narrow die-cast aluminium truss frame carries fully adjustable suspension and 310 mm front discs. Practical touches include under-seat storage, a pillion grab bar and a 17-litre tank. This was the launch year of the model.
