The SV 400S is the half-faired, lower-bar version of the SV 400, sharing the 399 cc liquid-cooled V-twin and aluminium trellis frame with the naked bike. The fairing and bars make it more of a sporty commuter and add a few kilograms. It was aimed at the Japanese 400 cc class.
