The 2001-2002 SV650N carried on the carburetted first-generation naked V-twin with the same 645 cc engine, aluminium trellis frame and twin-disc brakes. It kept the same light handling and flexible power that made the SV popular as a versatile road bike and cheap racer. Suzuki mainly made small cosmetic and equipment updates in these years.
