The Tigress 250 was the twin-cylinder four-stroke scooter in Triumph's range, an entirely new engine rather than the Bantam-derived two-stroke of the 175. It ran on forced-air cooling with a four-speed foot-change box, and some examples were fitted with an electric starter and a 12-volt system. It was Triumph's more powerful scooter option.
