Introduced in 1956 as a dual-purpose version of the 650 twin, the TR6 Trophy used the new alloy 'Delta' head and dropped the headlamp nacelle for a slim removable lamp. It was aimed chiefly at American off-road and desert riders, and shared parts with the 500 TR5.
