The Lanza was a compact, lightweight two-stroke trail bike built mainly for the Japanese market, with a low enough seat for shorter riders and a newly designed frame. It had electric start and a digital instrument panel. The 1998 version added an aluminium swingarm and Yamaha's computerised lubrication system.
