The DT-1 was Yamaha's first purpose-built dual-sport bike, launched in 1968 when riders were still converting road bikes into scramblers. It sold through its first 12,000-unit run quickly and effectively created the trail-bike class in the US. Its air-cooled two-stroke 250 was paired with a five-speed gearbox and Autolube oil injection.
