The DT-2 carried the original DT-1 formula forward with a little more compression and power, and, per the Wikipedia DT-1 article, reed-valve induction arrived in 1972. Still an air-cooled two-stroke 250 with twin shocks and drum brakes, it kept the dual-purpose character of the first DT.
