Continuing FJ1200 with the 1188 cc air/oil-cooled four, essentially the old 1100 bored out with small transmission changes and a lighter stainless exhaust. Testers found it easy at low speed and good for touring, though it vibrated a bit more than the 1100 and ground clearance was limited. The model gained a 17 inch front wheel and brake updates around 1988.
