The original T-Max was Yamaha's maxi-scooter that mixed scooter ease with motorcycle-like handling, using a 499 cc twin, automatic CVT and a backbone frame. It targeted commuters who also wanted motorway pace and weekend touring ability, with generous underseat storage. Output was modest, with a carburettor feeding the engine.
