Mid-1990s V-Max, essentially the 1993 revision carried forward with a black paint scheme from 1996. The V-Boost 1198 cc V4 still gives the bike its character, with strong acceleration and a surge when the boost valve opens near 6,500 rpm. Testers found it dated in styling, suspension and brakes.
