The redesigned WR250F brought a fuel-injected four-valve engine with the cylinder reversed (inclined rearward, intake at the front), a six-speed gearbox and a new aluminium bilateral-beam frame with KYB speed-sensitive forks. It is lighter and more compact than the five-valve carbureted model it replaced, with a wet-sump engine. It is aimed at serious off-road and enduro riders.
