The XJ600 of 1984 (FJ600 in North America) was the first Japanese 600 cc inline four and among the first four-cylinder bikes with a monoshock rear. A lightweight air-cooled machine with a top-half fairing and about 72 hp, it was Yamaha's sporting middleweight until the Diversion replaced it in 1991.
