Shaft-driven air-cooled 750 four derived from the XJ650 Maxim engine with bigger bore and stroke, solid engine mounting and YICS cylinder heads. It combined anti-dive forks and an electronic warning monitor with a sporty chassis, which testers praised for cornering clearance. The power sat high in the rev range and the shaft drive could unsettle the rear under hard riding.
