The XJ900F arrived in 1985 when the bore was enlarged from 67 to 68.5 mm, taking the air-cooled four from 853 cc to 891 cc and fitting 36 mm Mikuni carburettors. It kept shaft drive and a frame-mounted fairing, with later cosmetic changes such as instruments moved into a fairing console. A dependable, easy-to-service sports tourer.
