The XJ6 Diversion is the semi-faired, more touring-biased sibling of the naked XJ6, sharing its FZ6-derived liquid-cooled 600 four tuned for low and midrange torque. A half-cowl gives wind protection, and optional ABS was offered. Yamaha pitched it as a pleasure sports bike for new and experienced riders.
