The XVS 950 V Star arrived for 2009 as Yamaha's larger air-cooled V-twin cruiser, sitting above the 650. Fuel injection, belt drive and a low seat gave it a smooth, easy character suited to newer riders and relaxed touring. It was sold as the DragStar 950 in some markets.
