The XZ400D is the smaller-capacity sibling of the XZ550 Vision, a liquid-cooled 70-degree DOHC V-twin with shaft drive. Visually almost identical to the 550, it suited markets with displacement-based taxes and licensing. It offered a compact, easy-handling sport-tourer package.
