The 2010 R1 carried on the crossplane-crank design introduced in 2009, with YCC-T fly-by-wire, YCC-I variable intake and three D-Mode throttle maps. It is a litre-class sportbike aimed at experienced riders and had been named Motorcyclist's Motorcycle of the Year for 2009.
