The 2002 Thunderace is essentially the long-running 1996 design, still with a 1002 cc five-valve four, 5-speed box and 145 hp claimed. By now it was an older carburetted design facing newer injected rivals, but it kept its appeal as a light, stable and comfortable litre sportbike. The source lists no 2002-specific changes.
