For 2009 the R6 was carried over mechanically from 2008, with new colour schemes and a remapped ECU with revised throttle settings aimed at smoother power delivery out of corners. The short-stroke 599 cc four, YCC-T and YCC-I electronics, slipper clutch and aluminium Deltabox frame stayed unchanged.
