With the road-legal R6 being discontinued in Europe, Yamaha introduced the R6 Race as a track-only, non-homologated version for 2021. It keeps the standard bike's engine, electronics and chassis but is built for circuit use, and a dedicated GYTR performance kit was offered from January 2021.
