In 2004 the R6 carried on with the fuel-injected chassis introduced the year before, with Yamaha remapping the injection and fitting a revised exhaust canister. It was a sharp, light, high-revving 600 with an aluminium twin-spar frame, praised by reviewers for steering precision though criticised for a large silencer and a firm ride.
