The first-generation R25 brought Yamaha's R-series look to the quarter-litre class with a liquid-cooled 249 cc parallel twin, six-speed gearbox, Deltabox frame and a 298 mm front disc. It was a light, easy-to-ride sports bike aimed at newer riders and sold alongside the larger R3 sibling.
