The YZF-R7 is Yamaha's middleweight supersport, sitting between the R3 and R1. It uses the 689 cc CP2 crossplane parallel twin in a narrow steel-and-aluminium chassis with clip-on bars, an inverted fork and ABS. It aims at newer riders stepping up as well as experienced riders wanting a track-capable bike at a modest price.
