The 2026 R7 is a substantial update of Yamaha's middleweight twin supersport. It gains an R1-derived six-axis IMU with adjustable rider aids and riding modes, ride-by-wire throttle for smoother response, a stiffer frame, SpinForged wheels with Bridgestone S23 tyres and revised ergonomics. A 5-inch TFT with a track-focused layout, cruise control, speed limiter and smartphone connectivity are added, along with slimmer bodywork and an anniversary livery for Yamaha's 70th year.
